NAME CHANGE TO BROOKLYN CAREWORKS
Four Business Leaders Also Honored at Annual Gala
BROOKLYN, NY—October 4, 2007— Brooklyn Psychiatric Centers, Inc., has changed its name to Brooklyn CareWorks, Dr. Pamela Straker, president and CEO, announced at the agency’s October 4, 2007, gala celebrating 101 years of service to Brooklyn.
“We are delighted to announce our new name, Brooklyn CareWorks, which we believe better reflects the concern and compassion our agency has demonstrated for more than 100 years while helping the borough’s most vulnerable residents overcome emotional difficulties,” Dr. Straker said at the event held at Bridgewaters at the South Street Seaport. “The name says it all. We care about our clients and the communities we serve and the services we deliver work. The results speak for themselves.”
Dr. Straker also highlighted the agency’s recent accomplishments including a new Web site, www.brooklyncareworks.org, which was relaunched as part of the rebranding efforts; the introduction of the Primary Care/Behavioral Health Integration Initiative, which will help the agency’s clients improve their physical health, as well as their mental health; and the installation of art work produced by children from the Bushwick Clinic at the Brooklyn Office of Massey Knakal Realty Services.
In addition, four Brooklyn business leaders were honored at the gala. Board Chair Joan Bartolomeo presented The Judge Robert J. Wilkin Commitment to Community Award to Timothy D. King, senior partner, for the Brooklyn Office of Massey Knakal Realty Services, and Brian T. Leary, managing partner, for the Brooklyn Office of Massey Knakal Realty Services, and Elan Padeh CEO, president, and founder of The Developers Group, and S. David Behin, Esq., executive vice president of business development and general counsel for The Developers Group.
Each year, thousands of children, adults, seniors and their families receive the help they need during more than 60,000 visits to Brooklyn CareWorks five community-based clinics in Williamsburg-Greenpoint, Bushwick, Canarsie, Flatbush-Sheepshead Bay, and downtown, on-site programs in the public schools, an outpatient drug and alcohol treatment program, a prevention program serving at-risk children and their families, and senior programs.
